The Nest is a true home away from home for our son and they treat all the children in their care like part of the family. Every day they are going on new adventures or learning interesting things and I am sure they can be credited for his quick development since he has joined. I was really set on my son going to nursery and was so disappointed when he didn't get a place in time for me to return to work. We met Claire and James just as they were starting The Nest and so luckily they had a spot for our son at quite short notice. We had originally intended for him to only be there for a few months until he could get a spot at nursery but after about 3 weeks with Claire and James and their family we realised that we had chanced upon the most loving, wonderful, nurturing place and promptly cancelled our other plans as we couldn't imagine taking him away from somewhere that made him so happy. Our son has absolutely blossomed with them. He loves being there - and I credit The Nest with some key development milestones - including learning to walk within about a week of being there! Claire has excellent experience and I often ask for advice about things as I learn as a new Mum. This is so helpful but the biggest thing for us is that it is clear to see that Claire and James have created an impressively strong and loving family unit with their own 3 children and I can't express how grateful we are that they have made our son a part of that.

We investigated all options for our son’s childcare, from seeking a nanny through to paying the first month’s fees for him to start at one of the highest rated nurseries locally… however after visiting the home setting of The Nest and meeting James and Claire, we felt that it was by far the best option on offer in Winchester. We have been truly delighted with the care given to our son. It has felt like dropping him off at a home from home each day, where he is always welcomed with open arms and a waggy golden retriever (or two..!). He gets to enjoy a variety of stimulating activities in a warm and loving home environment, with the consistency of care from Claire and James, plus the other members of the team who are all warm, nurturing and fun as well. Logistically, the Nest has always been highly flexible and accommodating which we’ve been so grateful for. Plus Claire’s organisational skills and the team’s incredible work ethic never cease to amaze me! I know how much effort they put into ensuring every child has a wonderful experience each and every day. Claire is also always on hand with any wider parenting advice which I’m so grateful for! We get so excited to receive our daily picture and video updates of what our son has been enjoying, and viewing them is often the highlight of our day. He has come on so much with his talking and numbers and other developmental milestones as well. After much back and forth about the best option, we really couldn’t have hoped for a better start to childcare for our son. They’ve even managed to get him eating some vegetables…! Thank you to Claire and James, and all the brilliant staff at the Nest.

We feel so incredibly lucky to have found this gem of a place. Claire & James have built the most welcoming and nurturing environment for children of all ages. The team they have supporting them are all wonderful and our kids adore spending time there. We have a 5 & 7 year old so they do wrap around from school & entire days during the school holidays. They have had some super fun activities and adventures with The Nest team and always eat the most amazing sounding & nutritious meals. We cannot recommend The Nest enough. The Nest is brilliant! Our kids absolutely love it and the communication from James and Claire is outstanding. We have one child in school and one preschooler who stays there all day. The combination of taking both kids and covering school holidays allows both of us to maintain busy jobs while the kids are at a ‘home from home.’
